PR0 and proud

EDIT : I am now back to my original pagerank of 3, read more about what I did to get my PageRank back
We all know that PageRank is a little bit of a joke, and here is further proof. Today I got an email from my friend waigs.de and he was wondering if I had noticed my recent PageRank drop. Thankfully I don’t take much interest in all of this, but I can’t help feeling that little bit annoyed. Some people tend to check their pagerank more often than their bank account. Back in September we go PageRank of 3. I find this all funny as the links I sell to advertisers and reviews are all with the nofollow attribute, and all my affiliate links are nofollow too. I simply have mentioned how you can make money with your blog via payperpost and the likes, but you will not find 1 payperpost link on this site. Still the seem to slap me with a penalty ?
Contacted Google about my PageRank
I did fire off an email via the webmaster console (not that I am expecting a reply)
Recently I have noticed that this site is now showing a PR N/A, where as previously it used to have a PageRank of 3 and some pages had a page rank of 4. I use the nofollow attribute on my advertisers links and I don’t see how I am violating the terms and conditions of your services. I do link to some services that offer cash for blogging, but again these links are all nofollow and they don’t pass any page rank.
I guess you guys get hundreds of these messages a day and I don’t really expect a reply, but I think it is rather unfair that you would do this and not inform me.
I have worked hard on my blog and I feel that your course of action is rather unjustified.
I don’t sell links on here, I have done some exchanges with people and I have linked to blogs I like in my blog roll. But still they knock me down, I guess it just goes to show how bad the google algorithm actually is ! Maybe we should rename PageRank to PageWank !
So has your blog been hit ?

True waigs, to be honest I don’t care about PR (any more). I mean it is something that they can give and take away without giving you the simplest of reasons. I would have expected a notice in the webmaster console at least. But nope nothing.
Maybe it was because I said sometime back that I was thinking of removing the Google Ads for here. Who knows ?

Some have said that simply mentioning payperpost in plain text was enough to earn a PR slap. Given how opaque Google has been about applying penalties that could be true. However, if they are doing this, they have turned to the dark side.

Frank : I guess it just goes to show that they are not perfect (far from it) with their great algorithm. I’ve requested reinclusion, but I am not holding my breath. PPP and the likes are great when used wisely, and there are real reasons why I don’t use it here, but I use them on other older blogs.

good thing i never had pr to begin with. for this blog i’ve pretty much givin up on google. so i will continue to use paid posting for it. on my other blogs i won’t touch paid posting. since it’s so easy to start a blog. most bloggers should have one they use for paid posting and another where thye don’t touch it. just my 2 cents.

Looks like a lot of bloggers are losing their page rank… I wonder why we are given page rank, only to lose it again later… I would rather keep my page rank as it is… Feel so demoralized…

I’m still undecided about whether I’ll participate in paid reviews at the moment, since google recently updated their PageWank lol.
Still think A LOT of people and businesses think highly of this and will still judge you if you haven’t got any pagerank at all.

Sorry to hear of your woes, brother. I understand they don’t bother you too much but I also understand the irritation that Google acts like an online dictatorship.
