Why I don’t like Yaro’s Redesign
By Preblogging in Blog Tips
I’ve just seen that Yaro, from Entrepreneur’s Journey has done a little redesign on his site. But I must say I am a little disappointed, Here are some of the reasons why his page is not so great IMHO.
- The page size is 0.43MB, which is starting to be a little on the big side.
- The number of objects is high, 107 to be exact.
- There are 78 images in total on the page, so that means 78 http requests for these. Which are about 0.3MB in total.
- There are about 14 external CSS files linked.
- also this logo
seems to be a little on the plain side IMHO. I don’t think it really does him justice. - The main page is very long, in fact it’s over 10 thousand pixels long right now. This means that the average user would have to scroll over 10 page lengths to find the footer of the page. Click here to see 1/10th image.
- The rounded edges at the top of the page look pixelated.
Maybe the redesign was done in order to give him more screen real estate to sell to advertisers. But then again who I am to say what is good and what is not ? yaro has about 25K RSS subscribers, where as I have about 200.

The logo is a little plain, but I agree with the person above; it’s laid out a lot better.

I like his new design. Yes too many posts on the page but after studying in Yaro’s Blog Mastermind–I get what he is doing.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing what he has to say about it in a few months.
